Jessica Hart, need i say more?

January 28th, 2010 | No Comments

If it wasn’t for the guys at Monster Children i wouldn’t know about this blog. If i hadn’t lost my license, i wouldn’t be on the god damn looser-cruiser going over my phone usage allowance every month. So i should really be thankful that i did loose my license. If the blogs not enough you can just delete the blog part from below to get your fix. Is that creepy?

Big Day Out, just round the corner.

The best of a weak line-up as far as im concerned. Two thirds of the list, have been out here in the last 2 years for somewhat similar festivals and side’ies. Eat shit Muse, Dead Prez, Sasha and early Dizzee.

TM’s (Trent Mitchell) first solo show.

view

Just a little reminder that this Friday the 18th Trent’s first ever solo show is on in
Mona Vale. It kicks off at 6pm and wraps up around 9pm.

All the pieces will be up for sale and all of them are one-off works. Hope to you can
come have a look and enjoy the night.

Alternatively if its too hard to come on the Friday, He also has a joint show on Thursday
17th in Darlinghurst. For some this may be a better option?

Lifelounge and Boag’s are supporting 6 emerging photographers in a joint show, with the
project eventually producing a special edition book/magazine.

It should be pretty interesting given the diverse range of subjects and styles on show.

Get to one of them at least!

Only for Hip Hop fans.

Its been a few years since i first heard the early 90’s hip hop sound of Time Machine. To my horrid dismay i heard they split up after only 2 albums! so i gave up the search for new albums …..until now.

New Flaming Lips CD Give-Away

  embryonic

Psych-rock guru Wayne Coyne and band return upon the release of The Flaming Lip’s new album, Embryonic. Most of the groups 12th studio album sounds like chilled-out echoes of early Miles Davis jazz, with distorted funk grooves meshing effortlessly with soft, spacey electronics. Nearing the album’s closure, a theme emerges, which I think has something to do with keying into the cosmos by abandoning control. Now I could be wrong (it might just be the acid talking) but I think i’m close.

Thanks to the good people at Warner Music, we have a bunch of copies to give-away. The first three people to email stuff@grapevinemagazine.com.au, with EMBRYONIC in the subject box, will win themselves a slice of aural (aural … not oral) pleasure. Get cracking now, I know how much you all masturbate over free product.

His commissions range across publishing, clothing apparel and the music industry. He has designed an extensive range of music posters for performers like Silverchair, nirvana, fat boy slim, Frenzal rhomb and the hoodoo gurus, as well as events including the Big Day Out, Good Vibrations Festival, Homebake, the falls festival and others. He contributes a regular comic strip to notorious surfing publication ‘stab’, and provides illustration for many other titles. Ben also creates graphics to cover all manner of clothing for clients like Insight, Mambo, Globe, O’Neill, Rip Curl, Ocean & Earth, Nice produce and Supply.
