Some news you might be interested in hearing: there is a massive development overhaul proposed for Mona Vale's Kitchener Park, with $900, 000 going towards a new skate facility. $900, 000 could buy like, 128 571 goon bags, or be a small down payment on a swanky Northern Beaches property. But this cash won't be squandered. It's all going towards this proposed kickass skatepark, right here on the peninsula. Stoked? Holy shit, I am.
After digging for info on the subject my search led me to Raised By Wolves OG skatepunk Justin Leef, the man with all the answers.

NATHAN SMITH - SURF PHOTOGRAPHER
Story 1

At the risk of sounding cheesy, surf photography has long been Nathan Smith’s calling in life. At 21, after an injury forced him out of the water for six months, he bought a camera and an water housing to kill the subsequent boredom. On only the second roll of film, Nathan snapped off a shot of surfer Drew Courtney which ended up being run as a poster in Tracks Magazine. Impressive, huh.
These days, when he’s not kicking back in his Northern Beaches pad, Nathan earns a crust travelling to the world’s most exotic locations, shooting the best wave-shredders on the planet as a senior photographer for Tracks. He’s also been kind enough to share a collection of his rarest diamonds with us. So sit back, don your spectacles, and revel in some world-class photography.

MUSIC PROFILE - RADIOPHOBIA

A photo-aided story of five mates who spend their time playing rootsy-rock in a little, old shed in Avalon. But this is not your average garage band story. You see, the shed they use for rehearsal has some real history surrounding it... a mystic rock aura, even.
It has housed notable Aussie bands like The Beautiful Girls and The Fumes. Once the bands have gained success, the little shed is passed on to the next upcoming music-makers, in this case, Radiophobia.
Over the past six months the boys have grown from virtual nobodies playing backyard parties, to one of Sydney’s most honest and exciting new prospects, sharing stages with the likes of Vasco Era, Dallas Frasca and Urthboy at various festivals and shows nation-wide.

ALONE, HUNGRY AND LOCKED IN A CELL - PART 2

Here, for your steamy reading pleasure, is the second and final part of “Alone, Hungry and Locked in a Cell.” We couldn’t run the whole feature in the first issue because it was too long and kids these days have the attention span of a block of cheese.
You should know the back story, but if you don’t it is this: our friend R.A travelled to Japan, unknowingly with an empty sattie of cocaine stuffed inside his wallet. Customs found it, interrogated him, and allowed him one phone call. He used it to ring his sister, who lived in Japan, to inform her of the situation. So now you’re up to speed, read on my darlings…

TOMS Shoes is all about making life more comfortable. For every pair purchased, TOMS donates a pair of shoes to a child living in poverty.
Their ‘one for one’ policy, and continued desire to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate, has seen TOMS garner a global reverence.
Brock Carpenter recently teamed up with the TOMS Shoes Drop, travelling to rural South Africa to help distribute 50 000 pairs of shoes to kids in need. We asked Brock some Q’s about his experience.

As a youngster attending Pittwater High, Harry suffered from a condition known as Little Man Syndrome (LMS).
The symptoms being erratic bursts of anger, coupled with a highly mischievous demeanour. Some of his antics included setting fire to the woodwork room, constantly filling girls’ drink bottles with sewage-tainted water, and sodomising the school year book (he may or may not have hidden
explicit images in its design – with every copy issued having to be returned).
With no known cure for LMS, Harry’s future looked uncertain.
Then along came bodyboarding.
