Yep… we’re lucky enough to get some pretty talented artists in the area to put their touch on each issue. Did a particular cover catch your eye? Want to see more of a featured artist?
issue 007 – steve gorrow
Can we just say how stoked we are to have steve on board for our seventh issue. Everything the dude does turns to artistic gold… including this month’s cover. To see more of steve’s work, check out the insight website here and look under ‘garage art’.
issue 006 – dan raymond
“As a young bloke I never saw myself becoming an architect – I was into the surf and the whole Northern Beaches lifestyle, it wasn’t until my last year of school that I thought about architecture. The painting was always present growing up, I suppose. Not so much painting but being able to draw, having an urge to draw and make fun of things on paper. I was always stoked that I could get whatever I was envisioning down on paper…” – dan raymond
issue 005 – carly casey
“I think the human tendency to watch, and study, is most amplified in women and girls. We are the ultimate voyeurs and the ultimate watchers of members of our sex. And I guess my art is a study of that. I think women are beautiful and fascinating creatures – with all of their gestures and nuances whether they be subtle or in your face. And let’s face it – girls on canvas are way hotter than boys on canvas!” – carly casey
issue 004 – dan crozier
Daniel Crozier has, in our eyes, performed the equivalent of slaying two bald eagles with a fist-sized diamond. He produced the art you see in the following spread, and is also tearing the boogs in the accompanying shots. He designed the feature, so we didn’t have to do shit except bask in the glory of convenience. We were so impressed with what we received there were issues regarding whether the piece would be run this ish, or sat on till the Christmas edition. In the end we realised it’d be selfish of us to hold back these clean lines and morbid, confronting artworks.
